The corpus published on this site runs from KS1 through to A Level, plus the 11+ and 13+ entrance levels, and totals 2,899 packs holding 52,035 questions worth 163,755 marks across 27,623 printed pages, representing about 3,203 hours of intended working time. GCSE Maths is the single largest subject group by question count, with 7,180 questions, and GCSE material as a whole makes up 40.6 per cent of every question published. A typical pack is short: the median pack in the corpus carries 17 questions, so the totals above come from breadth across 39 subject groups rather than from a small number of very long booklets.

Add up every pack this site has published and the corpus totals 2,899 packs, 52,035 questions and 163,755 marks, spread across 27,623 printed pages. Working through every pack once, at its own target pace, would take about 3,203 hours; no student is meant to attempt anywhere near that much, and the figure is best read as a sense of scale rather than a study plan.

None of this material is bought in or scraped. It is written and reviewed in-house, one pack at a time, which is also why the size below is uneven: it reflects years of publishing decisions rather than a single planned catalogue. The whole set is browsable as a library, or as pre-assembled revision books built to fit a printed page budget.

By level, from KS1 to A Level

The corpus spans 9 published levels. 554 packs sit in the two entrance levels, 11+ and 13+, combined, material written for grammar-school and independent-school entrance exams rather than the national curriculum. 466 packs sit at A Level on its own, more than every level in the table except GCSE and 11+.

Reading this table down its Packs column is a better guide to where the corpus is thin than reading it down Questions, because a level with fewer, longer packs can still hold a comparable number of questions to one with many short ones.

The same totals broken out by subject group, which is the level most planning actually happens at. GCSE Maths is the largest single group by question count, at 7,180 questions, ahead of every GCSE subject taken on its own.

A typical pack in the corpus is short: the median pack carries 17 questions. The size of any one row in this table therefore comes mostly from how many packs a subject group has accumulated, not from unusually long individual worksheets. Browse any group directly from the worksheet library.

GCSE's share, and what surrounds it

GCSE material, taken as a whole, accounts for 40.6 per cent of every question in the corpus. That share exists alongside, not instead of, the rest of the ladder: 554 packs cover the two entrance levels and 466 packs cover A Level, both built to their own specifications rather than as GCSE spillover.

A large GCSE share reflects where UK tutoring and revision demand sits, not a judgement about which level matters most. Every level counted above carries enough packs to be used as a standalone resource rather than as a rounding error next to GCSE.

The full dataset is published as a CSV and as JSON, one row per pack, with the level, subject group, topic, question count, mark total, target minutes, calculator rule and page counts for every one of the 2,899 packs measured here. It is generated from the same source as the figures above, so the file and this page cannot disagree.

It is released under CC BY 4.0. You may republish it, chart it, load it into a spreadsheet, or build something else on top of it, including commercially, as long as Revision Library is credited and the licence is linked.

Method

This study is a census of the same corpus behind our question-length study: every worksheet pack published on this site, 2,899 packs across 39 subject groups and 9 levels from KS1 to A Level, plus the 11+ and 13+ entrance levels. Every pack was written and reviewed in-house before publication, and every field below exists for all of them.

Each pack record carries a level, a subject group, a topic id and title, a question count, a mark total, a target working time in minutes, a calculator rule and a page count. A pack's question pages are its total pages minus its mark scheme, which always starts on a fresh page.

Totals in the tables below are summed over every pack in a group, not averaged per pack, so a longer pack counts for more than a shorter one. A pack sits in exactly one level and one subject group, so no pack is counted twice.

The median pack size quoted in this study is computed on individual packs directly: every pack in the corpus is sorted by its own question count and the middle value is taken, which describes a typical single pack rather than a typical subject group.

What this data does not show

  • A pack count measures how the corpus is packaged, not how deep or difficult it is. The same amount of material could be split into many short packs or a handful of long ones, so pack counts should be read as a shelf inventory rather than a measure of curriculum depth.
  • 'Reviewed' describes our own in-house editorial process before publication. It is not an external audit, a moderation check, or an endorsement from any exam board.
  • Subject group sizes reflect publishing history and demand as much as curriculum size. GCSE Maths being the largest group by question count says more about where writing effort has gone than about which subject is intrinsically bigger.
  • This is a snapshot taken when the site was last built. Publishing new packs moves every figure on this page, and a smaller level or subject group moves by a larger proportion than a bigger one for the same number of new packs.
  • Page counts and target minutes carry the same limits as our question-length study: pages measure printed sheets rather than content depth, and minutes are the author's intended working time rather than a timed observation.

Questions

What does 'reviewed' mean in this dataset?
It means every pack was written and checked in-house before publication, by our own editorial process. It is not an external audit or an exam-board endorsement, and this dataset makes no claim beyond that.
Why is GCSE such a large share of the corpus?
Mostly demand. GCSE tutoring and revision make up the largest part of what visitors ask for, and the corpus has been written to match that over several years. It is not a judgement that GCSE material matters more than the rest of the ladder.
Does the largest subject group mean it is the most important, or the hardest?
No. GCSE Maths being the largest group by question count reflects how much has been written for it, not its difficulty or its importance in any curriculum. Pack counts measure packaging, not depth.
Can I use this data in my own article or research?
Yes. The dataset is published under CC BY 4.0, so reuse of any kind is fine as long as Revision Library is credited and the licence is linked. The citation line on this page is written to be copied directly.
How often is this updated?
The figures are recomputed from the corpus every time the site is built, so publishing new packs moves the numbers on this page and the rows in the downloadable dataset together. The review date at the top records when the wording was last checked against them.
