For the curve y = -4/x, work out y when x = 4, and write down the equation of its vertical asymptote.
- 2Direct and Inverse Proportion Depth3 marks
y is directly proportional to x^2. When x = 2, y = 8. Work out y when x = 3.
- 3Similar Shapes (Area and Volume)3 marks
Two similar solids have lengths in the ratio 1 : 4. The larger has a volume of 256 cm^3. Work out the volume of the smaller.
- 4Probability Trees3 marks
A bag holds 4 red and 6 blue counters. Two are taken without replacement. Work out the probability both are red.
- 5Box Plots2 marks
A box plot has minimum 7, lower quartile 14, median 19, upper quartile 29 and maximum 39. Work out the interquartile range.
