- 1Parallel and Perpendicular Lines3 marks
A line has equation y = -4x + 3. Work out the gradient of any line perpendicular to it.
- 2Direct and Inverse Proportion Depth3 marks
y is directly proportional to x^2. When x = 5, y = 200. Work out y when x = 4.
- 3Enlarging with Negative Scale Factors3 marks
The point (-5, -1) is enlarged by scale factor -3 about the centre (-1, -1). Write down the coordinates of the image.
- 4Venn Diagrams3 marks
In a Venn diagram, 18 are in A only, 4 in B only, 5 in both and 9 in neither. Work out the probability a random one is in both.
- 5Box Plots2 marks
A box plot has minimum 5, lower quartile 13, median 21, upper quartile 28 and maximum 32. Work out the interquartile range.
