  • Fractions, ratio and proportion

  • Perimeter, area and volume, including compound shapes
  • Rate, speed and clock-time arithmetic
  • Sequences, patterns and pre-algebraic reasoning
  • Data retrieval and averages

What is official, and what is our reconstruction

  • Officially confirmed: written answers rather than multiple choice, roughly 40 to 50 minutes, no marks for working, and difficulty deliberately spread through the paper rather than ramped towards the end. Our mocks use 45 minutes, the midpoint of the published range.
  • The schools do not publish a question count or a mark total. Ours is a reconstruction: 25 questions, each worth one mark, matching the official sample's one-mark tariff.
  • The official sample answers questions on a printed line inside a sentence that supplies the unit for you. Our papers copy that convention, because getting the format of the answer right is part of what the real paper tests.

The papers

The set is a ladder, not interchangeable papers. Work through them in order: the early papers are for getting used to the format, and the last is a genuinely competitive simulation.
