The papers above are scoped by grade band. These are scoped by teaching point instead: each one leaves out content a student at that stage has not met yet, so a mock in the middle of the course tests what has actually been covered.
These bands are a typical teaching order, not a syllabus rule. No exam board defines what belongs to Year 10, and schools sequence the course differently. Check the split against your own scheme of work before using it to decide what a class has covered. This Year 10/Year 11 split is a scheme-of-work convention, not a specification rule: individual centres genuinely sequence GCSE Business differently depending on their own curriculum map, mock-exam calendar and teaching group, so treat this as a sensible default rather than a fact to enforce. Three topics are the most likely to disagree with any one school's actual order. Break-even-analysis is placed in Year 11 because it is commonly taught alongside deeper financial-performance work, but some centres introduce a simpler version in Year 10 straight after cash flow and basic costs/revenue. Business-ownership-growth bundles a Year-10-style idea (choosing a legal structure) with a more advanced Year-11 idea (growth strategy), and is placed in Year 11 here because growth is the harder, more synoptic half. External-influences is placed in Year 10 to match the common convention of covering stakeholders, the economy and legislation as introductory context, but some schools save it for Year 11 as more evaluative, synoptic content instead.
