How often each topic actually comes up

We tag every past exam paper we can get hold of by topic, exam board, level and tier, then work out how many exam sittings (one board, level, tier, year and series - a single GCSE tier sat in June 2025, say) included each topic at least once. That share is what "frequency" means on this page: not how many marks a topic is worth, but how often it turns up at all. Specimen and sample papers are left out, so the figures only reflect exams that were actually sat.

Built from 936 tagged papers across 364 exam sittings, 2009 to 2025, covering 752 topics across 13 subjects.
