- 1Algebraic Fractions3 marks
Simplify (x^2 + x - 20)/(x + 5).
- 2Direct and Inverse Proportion Depth3 marks
y is directly proportional to x^2. When x = 6, y = 72. Work out the positive value of x when y = 32.
- 3Proof of the Circle Theorems2 marks
In a circle theorem proof, a step uses the fact that the angle in a semicircle is being proved. State the reason being quoted.
- 4Probability Equation Questions3 marks
A bag holds 11 counters, r of them red. Two are taken without replacement and P(both red) = 2/11. Work out r.
- 5Histograms3 marks
A histogram has two bars: one 20 units wide with frequency density 2.5, one 5 units wide with density 0.8. How many values in total?
