How to choose

Start with the exam board and paper structure. OCR J277, AQA, Edexcel, WJEC and Eduqas all assess Computer Science through written exams, but the exact wording and emphasis matter. A student revising OCR J277 should know whether they are working on Paper 1 Computer Systems or Paper 2 Computational Thinking, Algorithms and Programming before choosing a resource.

Separate coding fluency from exam-answer fluency. Coding practice helps a student understand sequence, selection, iteration, variables, arrays and subprograms, but the exam may ask them to read pseudocode, complete an algorithm, fill in a trace table or explain an error without running anything.
