How to choose

Run a weekly split between keyboard work and paper work. Keyboard work builds understanding and confidence. Paper work proves whether the student can show the steps, explain the choice and answer without immediate feedback from the machine.

For algorithms, use a pencil before a compiler. Trace every line, update each variable and write the output exactly. Then compare the paper result with the program or mark scheme so the correction is about the process, not only the final answer.

For number systems, practise tiny sets often. Five accurate conversions with the method visible beat a long session of guessing. Once binary, denary and hexadecimal are steady, mix them into Computer Science topic practice so the skill appears beside other topics.
