Worked example. Find the letter which will complete the word before the bracket and begin the word after the bracket: CLO ( ? ) LOBE Answer: G. CLO + G = CLOG (a type of wooden shoe, or to block something up), and G + LOBE = GLOBE (a spherical model of the earth). G is the only letter that completes the first word and starts the second word, so G is the answer.
