Leo and Aisha spent every Saturday morning at the community garden behind their school. They loved planting vegetables and watching them grow week by week. One rainy Saturday, Leo arrived early and noticed that the tomato plants had toppled over in the wind. He propped them up carefully with wooden stakes before anyone else arrived. When Aisha turned up an hour later, she was carrying a basket of seeds that her grandmother had given her. 'These will grow into sunflowers,' she told Leo, passing him the basket. Together, they planted the seeds along the back fence, patting the soil down gently with their hands. By lunchtime, the rain had stopped and the sun came out, so the friends decided to reward themselves with a picnic under the old oak tree. Leo unwrapped the sandwiches while Aisha poured the juice, and they shared their food happily. Before they left, Aisha reminded herself to bring more seeds next week, and Leo promised himself that he would check on the tomato plants every day until they had properly recovered.
