The papers above are scoped by grade band. These are scoped by teaching point instead: each one leaves out content a student at that stage has not met yet, so a mock in the middle of the course tests what has actually been covered.
These bands are a typical teaching order, not a syllabus rule. No exam board defines what belongs to Year 10, and schools sequence the course differently. Check the split against your own scheme of work before using it to decide what a class has covered. This Year 10 / Year 11 split is a scheme-of-work convention, not a specification requirement: no exam board timetables which strand is taught in which year, and centres vary a lot in pacing (some interleave Families and Education across both years instead of finishing them in Year 10, and some revisit Research Methods and Theory in short bursts throughout the course rather than teaching it as one opening block). I am least confident about education-policy specifically, since school structure and policy content is often the last part of the Education strand covered and can slip into early Year 11 if a department is behind schedule. Treat this split as a reasonable default for composing papers aimed at a given year group, not as a claim about what any particular school has actually covered by a specific date.
