The papers above are scoped by grade band. These are scoped by teaching point instead: each one leaves out content a student at that stage has not met yet, so a mock in the middle of the course tests what has actually been covered.
These bands are a typical teaching order, not a syllabus rule. No exam board defines what belongs to Year 10, and schools sequence the course differently. Check the split against your own scheme of work before using it to decide what a class has covered. Unlike a fact you could point to in the exam board's specification, there is no document anywhere that fixes what a Spanish class has covered by the end of Year 10 - every school writes its own scheme of work, and centres genuinely differ in the order they sequence tenses and topics. Some schools teach future/conditional tense or the holidays/town topics earlier than assumed here, and others leave past tense until Year 11, so this split should be read as a typical, defensible ordering rather than a settled fact. I am least confident about exactly where the two translation topics and past tense sit in any particular school's plan - they are plausibly taught earlier in some centres than I have placed them here.
