It is a sunny afternoon and Year 2 are having a picnic in the school garden.

Freya is spreading a blanket on the grass. Oscar is pouring juice into cups. Priya is unpacking sandwiches from a basket.

Two boys are chasing a ball near the fence. Miss Bell is watching the children and smiling.

"We are having such a lovely time!" says Freya.

Suddenly, the wind is blowing hard and some napkins are flying across the grass. Everyone is laughing and running to catch them.

Practice question (not marked). The present continuous tense uses am, is or are with a doing word ending in -ing to show an action happening right now. Tick the part of this sentence that shows the action happening now.
