This term, Class 2 are growing their own vegetables in the school garden.

'We'll need to dig the soil first,' said Miss Okafor. Leo can't wait to plant the carrot seeds. Tara isn't sure if the tomatoes will ripen in time.

'It's important to water the plants every day,' said Miss Okafor. Zara doesn't forget to check the plants at lunchtime.

The class hamster, Pip, wasn't allowed near the vegetable bed. By the summer, the children hadn't expected such a big harvest, but the garden was full of ripe tomatoes and carrots. Everyone felt very proud of their hard work.
