Which site should I use?

Best GCSE Geography Revision Websites

GCSE Geography revision has to move beyond reading notes because marks often depend on named case studies, map evidence, graph interpretation and fieldwork answers. BBC Bitesize is the best free place to rebuild topic knowledge in a familiar guide, video and quiz format. Use Revision Library for [[/library/gcse-geography|printable GCSE Geography practice]] with mark schemes, especially when a student needs to turn case-study facts, OS map skills and 6 or 9 mark writing into marked answers.

How this list was made

The comparison looks at the jobs a GCSE Geography student actually has to do: learn physical and human processes, keep case studies and named examples accurate, handle fieldwork enquiry, read maps and graphs, and write extended answers that fit levels marking. On 16 September 2026, we checked each site's access model, resource format and stated GCSE Geography support, then compared that with Revision Library's own worksheets, flashcards, diagnostics, topic guides, mock papers and past-paper tools for AQA and WJEC GCSE Geography.

BBC Bitesize

Best for broad free coverage across every UK curriculum

BBC Bitesize is the BBC's free revision service, covering GCSE-level subjects in England and the equivalent qualifications in Scotland, Wales and Northern Ireland, with revision guides, video, audio and quizzes across a very broad subject range.

For GCSE Geography, BBC Bitesize is useful when a student needs free teaching content before attempting exam practice. It can help with topics such as hazards, ecosystems, rivers, coasts, urban change and development, but it is less suited to printing a focused worksheet, marking a fieldwork answer or checking a levels-marked 9 marker.

Revision Library

Best for free printable practice with mark schemes

GCSE Geography revision can feel busy because there are several kinds of knowledge in play at once. A student might understand tropical storms, urban growth or resource management in class, then lose marks because the named example is vague, the graph is misread, or the 9 mark answer does not build a supported judgement. The GCSE Geography library is useful at that point because it gives printable practice with a full mark scheme beside it.

The printable work is strongest after a topic has been taught and a student needs to turn notes into answers. Revision Library's GCSE Geography topic coverage follows the AQA 8035 order: The challenge of natural hazards, The living world, Physical landscapes in the UK, Urban issues and challenges, The changing economic world, and The challenge of resource management. The Geography Pack Builder helps when you want a short set of questions on one strand rather than a long browse through mixed resources.

Geography also has skill demands that ordinary notes do not test well. Students need to use OS map evidence, climate graphs, population pyramids, choropleth maps, cross-sections, fieldwork data and command words under time pressure. Use the Geography topic guides for a quick check, then move into written practice from the library or the GCSE Geography mock papers so the answer can be marked.

Revision Library is not a complete replacement for an exam-board specification or teacher fieldwork booklet. Its GCSE Geography past-paper area can currently hand readers AQA and WJEC papers, so do not treat it as an Edexcel, OCR or Eduqas paper source. For recall before writing, use the Geography flashcards; for route planning, use the GCSE Geography revision plan.

Seneca Learning

Best for free AI-marked practice questions

Seneca Learning is a free-to-use revision platform with interactive courses, an AI-marked question bank and an AI study companion; a paid Premium upgrade adds further features. Its own level list runs from Primary and KS3 through the 11+, GCSE and iGCSE to A Level and the IB.

Seneca fits the recall and quick-check side of GCSE Geography, especially when a student wants short interactive practice on processes, key terms and topic knowledge. It is less useful when the task is to annotate an OS map, write a full fieldwork response or improve a longer case-study answer by hand.

Save My Exams

Best for revision guides alongside practice papers

Save My Exams is a revision platform for GCSE, IGCSE and AS/A Level, with revision notes, exam-style questions, flashcards, mock exams and past papers across more than two dozen subjects. A free account gives access to some content; a paid Premium tier unlocks the rest.

Save My Exams is helpful when a Geography student wants notes, questions, flashcards, mock exams and past papers in one place. Students should still check access limits and exam-board fit before relying on it for every case study, fieldwork method or extended-answer practice session.

Tes (Teaching Resources marketplace)

Best for teacher-shared resources across many subjects

Tes Teaching Resources is a marketplace of resources uploaded by individual teachers, spanning early years to secondary and special needs, rather than a single curated corpus. Free and paid resources are listed side by side.

Tes can be useful for teachers or confident parents looking for extra GCSE Geography classroom resources, including activities around case studies, skills and topic revision. Since resources are uploaded by individual contributors, each worksheet or lesson needs checking against the student's specification, teacher fieldwork and named examples.

How to choose

Start with the course your class is actually following. Revision Library's GCSE Geography past-paper area can currently hand a reader AQA and WJEC papers, and the Geography past-paper area should not be treated as a complete source for Edexcel, OCR or Eduqas. Your teacher's specification, fieldwork route and named examples still decide what needs revising first.

Then split the subject into content, examples and skills. Content means processes such as plate margins, ecosystems, river erosion, urbanisation, global development and resource management. Examples mean the named places, facts and impacts that make an answer specific. Skills mean OS maps, graphs, photos, data presentation and fieldwork enquiry.

For content recall, short quizzes and Geography flashcards can be efficient. For exam marks, choose tasks that make you interpret evidence and write a developed answer, then mark it using the scheme from a worksheet or mock paper.

If a student keeps losing marks, identify the type of gap before opening another site. A vague case study needs different work from a misread graph or a 9 mark answer with no judgement, so the GCSE Geography diagnostic is a better starting point than another set of notes.

Use a weekly plan that alternates physical geography, human geography and skills. The Geography revision formats area can vary the task, while the revision plan keeps natural hazards, the living world, UK physical landscapes, urban issues, economic change and resource management in view.

Frequently asked questions

Which exam boards does Revision Library support for GCSE Geography past papers?+
The GCSE Geography past-paper area can currently provide AQA and WJEC papers. Do not rely on it as an Edexcel, OCR or Eduqas past-paper source, and always check your teacher's specification before building a revision plan.
Are flashcards enough for GCSE Geography?+
No. Flashcards help with terms, processes and named examples, but GCSE Geography also tests OS map skills, graph interpretation, fieldwork enquiry and extended answers. Use flashcards first, then move into GCSE Geography mock papers or marked worksheet practice.
What should I practise after learning a Geography topic?+
Close the notes and answer a question that uses evidence. For example, practise explaining a process, applying a named example, reading a graph or building a 6 or 9 mark judgement, then mark the answer and improve one specific weakness.
How should I revise GCSE Geography fieldwork?+
Use your school's fieldwork details first: enquiry question, location, sampling, data collection, presentation, analysis and evaluation. Then practise writing answers that explain why a method was chosen, what the data showed and how reliable the enquiry was.
