Worked example. Worked example (Letter Codes): If the code for BAT is CBU (each letter moved forward one place in the alphabet), what is the code for FOX? Answer: GPY. Work out the rule from the example pair first: B becomes C, A becomes B, and T becomes U, so every letter moves forward one place in the alphabet. Applying the same rule to FOX: F becomes G, O becomes P, and X becomes Y, giving GPY. Always check the rule against every letter of the example before applying it to the new word.
