Question 1

Content and communication (10 marks)
- Level 4 (9-10): All three bullet points covered with relevant, connected content; a clear opinion is given; the message is communicated with ease.
- Level 3 (6-8): Most bullet points covered, mostly relevant; a simple opinion given even if undeveloped; the message is generally communicated clearly.
- Level 2 (3-5): Some bullet points covered, possibly only briefly or as a list; limited or no opinion; the message is communicated with some difficulty.
- Level 1 (1-2): Minimal relevant content, largely single words or fragments; the message is barely communicated.
Range and accuracy of language (5 marks)
- Level 4 (5): A small range of vocabulary and simple connectives used, mostly accurately; verbs generally correct.
- Level 3 (4): Adequate range of vocabulary; simple sentences generally accurate; occasional errors do not obscure meaning.
- Level 2 (2-3): Limited vocabulary; basic sentences with frequent errors that sometimes obscure meaning.
- Level 1 (1): Very limited vocabulary; minimal accurate language; errors often obscure meaning.
Indicative content:
- J'habite dans une petite ville avec beaucoup de parcs et pas trop de circulation.

- Level 3 (8-11): Good range of vocabulary and structures; two tenses attempted with reasonable accuracy; some longer sentences with connectives; errors occasionally impede communication.
- Level 2 (4-7): Adequate but limited range of vocabulary; mainly one tense used, with a second tense attempted but not always accurate; simple sentences predominate; errors sometimes impede communication.
- Level 1 (1-3): Narrow range of vocabulary; little verb variety, mostly present tense or set phrases; basic short sentences; frequent errors often impede communication.
Indicative content:
- J'habite dans une grande ville industrielle, ce qui me plaît parce qu'il y a beaucoup de choses à faire, mais je n'aime pas la pollution de l'air. (present tense, balanced view)
- L'année dernière, la mairie a construit de nouvelles pistes cyclables et a interdit les voitures dans le centre-ville. (perfect tense)
- Avant, il y avait beaucoup plus de circulation dans ma ville, mais la situation s'est un peu améliorée récemment. (imperfect + perfect contrast)
- À mon avis, le gouvernement devrait investir davantage dans les transports en commun et dans l'énergie renouvelable. (conditional + opinion)
- Si rien ne change, le changement climatique aura des conséquences graves pour les générations futures. (si + future)
- Je pense que chaque pays doit agir maintenant, sinon il sera trop tard pour protéger notre planète. (opinion + justification)
