Question 1

Content and communication (10 marks)
- Level 4 (9-10): All three bullet points covered with relevant, connected content; a clear opinion is given; the message is communicated with ease.
- Level 3 (6-8): Most bullet points covered, mostly relevant; a simple opinion given even if undeveloped; the message is generally communicated clearly.
- Level 2 (3-5): Some bullet points covered, possibly only briefly or as a list; limited or no opinion; the message is communicated with some difficulty.
- Level 1 (1-2): Minimal relevant content, largely single words or fragments; the message is barely communicated.
Range and accuracy of language (5 marks)
- Level 4 (5): A small range of vocabulary and simple connectives used, mostly accurately; verbs generally correct.
- Level 3 (4): Adequate range of vocabulary; simple sentences generally accurate; occasional errors do not obscure meaning.
- Level 2 (2-3): Limited vocabulary; basic sentences with frequent errors that sometimes obscure meaning.
- Level 1 (1): Very limited vocabulary; minimal accurate language; errors often obscure meaning.

- Level 3 (8-11): Good range of vocabulary and structures; two tenses attempted with reasonable accuracy; some longer sentences with connectives; errors occasionally impede communication.
- Level 2 (4-7): Adequate but limited range of vocabulary; mainly one tense used, with a second tense attempted but not always accurate; simple sentences predominate; errors sometimes impede communication.
- Level 1 (1-3): Narrow range of vocabulary; little verb variety, mostly present tense or set phrases; basic short sentences; frequent errors often impede communication.
Indicative content:
- Dans ma famille, nous sommes cinq : mes parents, mes deux soeurs et moi, et nous habitons dans une petite maison en banlieue. (present tense, family description)
- Quand j'étais plus jeune, je me disputais souvent avec ma soeur aînée, mais maintenant nous nous entendons beaucoup mieux. (imperfect + present contrast)
- L'année dernière, mes parents se sont séparés, ce qui a été difficile pour toute la famille. (perfect tense)
- À l'avenir, je vais essayer de passer plus de temps avec ma famille, même quand je serai à l'université. (near future + future)
- Si j'ai des enfants un jour, je voudrais avoir une relation aussi proche avec eux que celle que j'ai avec mes parents. (si + conditional)
- À mon avis, les amis sont parfois plus importants que la famille parce qu'on les choisit soi-même, mais la famille reste essentielle dans les moments difficiles. (opinion + justification)
