Question 1

Content and communication (10 marks)
- Level 4 (9-10): All three bullet points covered with relevant, connected content; a clear opinion is given; the message is communicated with ease.
- Level 3 (6-8): Most bullet points covered, mostly relevant; a simple opinion given even if undeveloped; the message is generally communicated clearly.
- Level 2 (3-5): Some bullet points covered, possibly only briefly or as a list; limited or no opinion; the message is communicated with some difficulty.
- Level 1 (1-2): Minimal relevant content, largely single words or fragments; the message is barely communicated.
Range and accuracy of language (5 marks)
- Level 4 (5): A small range of vocabulary and simple connectives used, mostly accurately; verbs generally correct.
- Level 3 (4): Adequate range of vocabulary; simple sentences generally accurate; occasional errors do not obscure meaning.
- Level 2 (2-3): Limited vocabulary; basic sentences with frequent errors that sometimes obscure meaning.
- Level 1 (1): Very limited vocabulary; minimal accurate language; errors often obscure meaning.
Indicative content:
- J'ai fait mon stage dans un cabinet vétérinaire près de chez moi.
- J'ai aidé le personnel et j'ai observé des opérations sur des animaux.

Content and communication (10 marks)

- Level 3 (6-8): Most bullet points covered with some detail; content is mostly relevant; some opinions given, though not always developed.
- Level 2 (3-5): Some bullet points covered; content is fairly basic or list-like in places; limited development or opinion.
- Level 1 (1-2): One or two bullet points only, or content largely irrelevant/very underdeveloped.
Range and accuracy of language (15 marks)
- Level 4 (12-15): Wide range of vocabulary and structures; at least three tenses used with general accuracy; complex sentences with a variety of connectives; errors are minor and rarely impede communication.
- Level 3 (8-11): Good range of vocabulary and structures; two tenses attempted with reasonable accuracy; some longer sentences with connectives; errors occasionally impede communication.
- Level 2 (4-7): Adequate but limited range of vocabulary; mainly one tense used, with a second tense attempted but not always accurate; simple sentences predominate; errors sometimes impede communication.
- Level 1 (1-3): Narrow range of vocabulary; little verb variety, mostly present tense or set phrases; basic short sentences; frequent errors often impede communication.
Indicative content:
- Ma matière préférée est l'informatique parce que j'aime résoudre des problèmes et je développe ma logique. (present tense + reason)
- L'été dernier, j'ai travaillé dans un magasin de vêtements, ce qui m'a appris à parler avec les clients. (perfect tense)
- Avant, je ne savais pas ce que je voulais faire, mais maintenant j'ai une idée plus claire. (imperfect + present contrast)
- Plus tard, je voudrais devenir ingénieure parce que ce métier est bien payé et très varié. (conditional + justification)
- L'année prochaine, je vais choisir mes options, et j'espère continuer mes études après le lycée. (near future)
- À mon avis, un apprentissage peut être aussi utile que l'université, surtout si on veut apprendre un métier pratique. (opinion + justification)
