How to use these worksheets

  1. Pick one skill that matches the lesson or the gap you have found. Open the pack page first if you want to check the level and length before using paper.
  2. Print the PDF and set a clear stopping point. A single focused KS3 Science sheet usually gives better evidence than a long mixed booklet when you are checking whether one method is secure.
  3. Mark it with the scheme at the back. Keep the questions that were missed, write down the reason, then return to that skill with a new pack instead of repeating answers the student already knows.
See the method: Cells and Organisation

A student draws a plant cell as seen under a microscope. The actual width of the cell is 25 micrometres. The width of the student's drawing is 30mm. Calculate the magnification of the drawing.

  1. Write down the magnification equation: magnification = image size / actual size.
  2. Convert both measurements to the same unit: 25 micrometres = 0.025mm (the drawing is already in mm).
  3. Substitute the values into the equation: magnification = 30 / 0.025.
  4. Calculate: 30 / 0.025 = 1200.
  5. State the final answer: magnification = x1200.
