Simplify fully (x^2 + x - 6)/(x^2 - 9).
- Factorise the numerator: x^2 + x - 6 = (x + 3)(x - 2).
- Factorise the denominator using the difference of two squares: x^2 - 9 = (x - 3)(x + 3).
- Rewrite the fraction as [(x + 3)(x - 2)] / [(x - 3)(x + 3)].
- Cancel the common factor of (x + 3) from the numerator and denominator.
- Final answer: (x - 2)/(x - 3).
