GCSE Maths Grade 9 Worksheets
Grade 9 is not simply “the hardest content on the paper” - each summer only a small share of higher-tier candidates convert a grade 8 into a grade 9, and the gap is rarely one unfamiliar topic. It is questions that chain two or three techniques together with no signposted method, formal proof and “show that” questions where the mark scheme rewards the structure of the argument and not just the final number, and routine skills - completing the square, the sine rule, iteration - applied inside a context the student has to set up for themselves.
The 52 packs below are every GCSE maths topic in our corpus marked Grade 7-9 (Higher) by our own topic guides - out of 449 GCSE maths packs on the site, that is roughly one pack in seven. They cover the topics that carry the exam’s hardest marks: quadratic simultaneous equations, completing the square and quadratic inequalities, algebraic and geometric proof (including proving the circle theorems from first principles), transforming and sketching y = f(x), vectors proof questions, iteration, the sine and cosine rules in 3D contexts, velocity-time graph interpretation, conditional probability and histograms. Grade 7-only content - bounds, direct and inverse proportion, and the rest of the Grade 7-8 band - is left off this page deliberately; it belongs on the Higher strand, not here.
Each topic below has two packs. The numbered pack (8.1, 8.2, ...) is worked exam-style questions with a full mark scheme; its “Fluency and Exam Drill” twin is shorter, faster repetition of the same skill, for building the execution speed a grade-9 answer needs under time pressure. If a topic feels shaky, do the fluency pack first and the exam-style pack second. Read the mark scheme even on questions answered correctly - at this grade boundary, marks are as often won on the wording of a proof or a “show that” step as on the arithmetic itself.
