  1. Let x = 0.636363...
  2. Multiply by 100, since two digits recur: 100x = 63.636363...
  3. Subtract: 100x - x = 63.636363... - 0.636363..., giving 99x = 63.
  4. Divide by 99: x = 63/99.
  5. Simplify by dividing by 9: x = 7/11.
