A Level Further Maths Worksheets
Choose from 33 A Level Further Maths worksheet packs, covering 305 printable pages. This view is for finding a focused sheet to print: each PDF keeps one topic together and ends with its own full mark scheme.
How to use these worksheets
- Pick one skill that matches the lesson or the gap you have found. Open the pack page first if you want to check the level and length before using paper.
- Print the PDF and set a clear stopping point. A single focused A Level Further Maths sheet usually gives better evidence than a long mixed booklet when you are checking whether one method is secure.
- Mark it with the scheme at the back. Keep the questions that were missed, write down the reason, then return to that skill with a new pack instead of repeating answers the student already knows.

Solve the equation z^2 - 2z + 5 = 0, giving each root in the form a + bi, then find the modulus and argument of the root with positive imaginary part.
- Use the quadratic formula: z = [2 +- sqrt((-2)^2 - 4(1)(5))] / (2(1)).
- Simplify inside the root: 4 - 20 = -16, so sqrt(-16) = 4i.
- z = (2 +- 4i)/2 = 1 +- 2i, so the roots are z = 1 + 2i and z = 1 - 2i.
- For z = 1 + 2i, the modulus is sqrt(1^2 + 2^2) = sqrt(5).
- The argument is arctan(2/1) = 1.107 radians, since the point (1,2) lies in the first quadrant.
- Final answer: z = 1 + 2i or z = 1 - 2i; the root 1 + 2i has modulus sqrt(5) and argument 1.107 radians.
